people out of their minds at Monterey Pop Festival in ‘67? Or been at The Falls in 2003 when G-Love’s bass-player broke out into Sly and
The Family Stone’s ‘Family Affair’? Never fear, with The Falls opening on the 29th of December this year, you can be there for the whole show.

Darlings of this year’s SXSW festival and lauded by Mojo as ‘America‘s next great band’, Seattle five-piece Fleet Foxes’ music is something that has had us all
mesmerised with their ‘baroque harmonic pop jams’ that effortlessly build up in layers of vocals and instrumentation that surges, mellows and surges again in waves
of harmony. Their melodies are, like all great pop; simultaneously familiar and unique, sounding like they’ve just fallen from the sky, and utterly unashamed of beauty.
They conjure an imaginary lost world of sound and unknown instruments in their lovely, folky, ghostly a capella gospel-tinged sing-songs that make you want to board the
ship and sail yourself there. (playing Vic & Tas) www.myspace.com/fleetfoxes
Prolific band Augie March’s brand of smart folk, lead by Australia’s tight-packed pop-poet, Glenn Richards, have been buried in the studio recording, what we’ve
been tipped is, their finest work yet. After their profoundly beautiful Moo, You Bloody Choir, it’s difficult to imagine. Brilliant and wrenching, this five piece always
manage to pull out all the stops live, littering their sets with their classic rock’n’roll harmonies and swing jazz rhythms that tend to slow-burn into a combustion
of raw pop-sensibilities and emotion.

The siblings Jarmon, better known as The Cribs, were labelled earlier this year by Q Magazine as ‘The biggest cult band in the UK’. This is however a line these
cheeky chaps are unlikely to advertise – they don’t pander to music’s mainstream expectations, and are fiercely independent with a DIY attitude. They play contagious
driving bass, dirty, rollicking guitar tracks that are packed-full o’ indie pop lo-fi goodness. Joining the Jarmon brothers is ex Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, who joined
the lads early this year to become a fully fledged Cribs member. Known well for their raucous, unpredictable live shows usually packed to the rafters with their fanatical
followers, we’re more than chuffed to have their shambolic, spiky tuned post punk paraphernalia on our shores.

It’s time to hail the new age of anything-goes-ridiculousness as those nu-synth-pop pioneers Late Of The Pier perform their ludicrousness par excellence. Glam indie
at its finest, the quartet has proved to be much more than skinny jean wearing indie electro fiends – but savvy syncopated 80’s electro synth surveyors. Off the back
of their album Fantasy Black Channel LOTP will bring, for the first time to our shores, their full-hearted, straight-faced, disco-romp that is one multi-layered space
pop beast whose extracurricular activity is to indulge in aggressive exuberance of free-wheelin’ fun.

No longer is it a crime to mish-mash hip hop acapella into a techno track. A-Trak leads the pack as he rides the line between hip hop and electronic beats in a
refreshing hybrid of everything ass-shaking! His mix taped madness proves he is great – if not a turntablism prodigy. The call has been made to make the party
dance – and A-Trak will dutifully and extraordinarily do so with his trademark eclectic beats. www.djatrak.com + www.myspace.com/djatrak
Hallelujah! Rocket Science are back. It’s been far too long between drinks, and we’re delighted about the return of the men possessed by the spirit of rock’n’roll.
Having recently been received back into the Melbourne music scene with a smile and a firm handshake, we welcome them back like a long lost friend, as they return
to the stages for their 5th Falls Festival. Still firmly engaging their fat rock sound, Rocket Science continue to push out countless and relentless riffs, licks and slick
chords illuminated by their trademark sound of Rhodes keys and kit-driven garage rock punctuated by theremin oddities. Having retained their outrageously fun live
show and wholly excellent material, Rocket Science are storming into our hearts once again, better than ever. www.myspace.com/rocketsciencerock
The man with charisma and a constant smile brings his melting pot of soulful blues accompanied by his guitar and gospel-style vocals to The Falls. Born to an
African mother and Australian father, Ash Grunwald grew up listening to classic bluesmen like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson and then later BB King, James Brown
and Jimi Hendrix who have all inspired what has become his signature eclectic style. With an Album Of The Year from the Australian Blues Awards under his belt,
and guitar securely under his arm, Ash’s unique, heartfelt stormer of a live show is full of passionate beats and infectious rhythms which is sure to unleash impromptu
funky moves from the crowd. (Playing Vic & Tas) www.ashgrunwald.com + www.myspace.com/ashgrunwald
Having released two studio albums within the space of 12 months (including the highly acclaimed sophomore album Thieves) and gigging the country from north
to south, east to west, the youthfully exuberant lads from garage rock quartet British India have been busy. Having been referred to as ‘Indie Champions’ and
well known as performing live burly shows that don’t disappoint British India are so full of energy and dynamism it is highly possible that they may literally blow the
roof off The Falls stage with their trademark whining and wailing guitar notes filling the air. www.myspace.com/britishindia
Influenced by the three vocalists' Chilean heritage, and infusing everything from old school hip-hop and jazz to Cuban salsa and even Andean folk music,
Labjacd (pronounced lab-jacked) is a 9-piece Latin hip-hop outfit based in Melbourne. Dishing up pulsing rhythms and unleashing energy that orders you to
dance, it is little wonder that they’ve been described as "one of the best live acts in the country" by Rolling Stone magazine. Formed in 2004, Labjacd released
their first full length album Vote With Your Feet with the assistance of John Butlers JB Seed Program. www.myspace.com/labjacd
TinPan Orange, headed by brother-and-sister duo Jesse and Emily Lubitz, are a unique sounding vessel that chugs through the calm waters of melodic virtue.
Their perfect recipe incorporates acoustic guitars, violin, and mandolin lead by quirky lyrics delivered from a voice that has been likened to ‘pure, unpolished silver’.
The popular trio has been travelling the country performing their blend of profound perceptions and musical insights of the poetics of the everyday and uncanny and
has been picked up with gusto by radio stations across the great divide. www.tinpanorange.com + www.myspace.com/tinpanorange
